Founded in 2009 by a group of University of Waterloo students, Kik had a mission to transform the world of chat.
As teens began to migrate from Social Media platforms to the more readily available world of chat on their phones, they would discover that chat between Blackberry, Android and iPhone devices was not possible.
Kik’s mission was to break down those barriers and allow users to chat with whoever, whenever they wanted to.
Today Kik is the only chat platform built especially for teens.
With millions of users and an incredible team, Kik was ready for a new home.
In 2018 they moved to Catalyst 137 in Kitchener Ontario. A world class hub for growth-oriented, globally focused firms.
Verto360 designed and installed DIRTT integrated wall assemblies for the interior build out that met the desired sleek contemporary aesthetic and provided the acoustical privacy required for meeting rooms and privacy enclaves.
DIRTT was also able to meet the very aggressive construction schedule with its 3-week lead times while being able to meet the site requirements which in one instance included a section of 12-foot-high glass wall!
The soft open and close feature on DIRTT’s barn doors was a surprising and welcome feature enjoyed by all team members.
We’re confident that the Kik team will be pleased with their new home for many years to come as they continue to revolutionize the world of chat.
