Project Details

The AstraZeneca team was looking for a stunning, sleek design for their corporate office space in Mississauga, which had become functionally and aesthetically dated.

Their design concepts called for classic lines, angles and mitered glass corners, which required extreme precision and accuracy. And in order to achieve the fit and finishes required, any deviations needed to be kept to a minimum.

Goals & Outcomes

Prefabricated Construction Delivers a Sleek, Stunning Corporate Healthcare Office Space

Using DIRTT’S industry-leading ICE software, we were able to help create the framing and glass for this space, accurate down to the millimeter, in just two weeks. We were able to account for glass being cut on a miter, through its thickness, to fit precisely into the entire 9-foot height of the wall. The materials were also pre-cut before they arrived on site, making for a clean and seamless installation process.

To top it off, this project was completed in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. While traditional construction projects were battling supply chain issues, labour shortages and health and safety concerns, Verto360 and Turner Construction Company (the project’s general contractor) carried on efficiently, on schedule and within budget.

Project Partners

This project was made possible with the support of a comprehensive team, including:

  • BG Glass Technologies, who provided the angled and mitered glass
  • Solutions Partner: DIRTT
  • Designer: Ted Moudis Associates (TMA)
  • General Contractor: Turner Construction Company

Notable Features

Thin, sleek profile system

Installed with mitered glass corners, at unique angles made possible through our  industry-leading technology (available thanks to DIRTT), the end result was a beautiful, contemporary and functional space.

Angled glass walls

With a unique, angular design, the AstraZeneca offices reflect the company’s innovative, forward-thinking approach and the quality they seek to bring to their respective industry.

Fun fact: we were able to create 27 foot long panes of glass without any interruptions, enhancing the space’s modern, clean aesthetic.

Superior fit and clean finish

The end result was a unique space, fit with materials and finishes that were both eye-catching and functional.

Enhanced Acoustics

The doors within this beautiful space are solid core wood, butt hinged with drop seals at the bottom and automatic door closers at the top, enhancing acoustics and privacy.

The Transformation

A Bold, Eye-Catching Space Equipped for Today and Tomorrow

With a prefabricated construction approach, game-changing technology, and a collaborative project team, AstraZeneca was able to transform their space to a bold and eye-catching environment equipped for day-to-day operations both now and in the future. Because of the advanced planning and measurements, completed in advance with ICE software, the installation process for this sleek space with specific measurements was fast and seamless, posing minimal disruptions and avoiding many of the pitfalls associated with traditional construction methodologies.

This was truly a fantastic outcome! The space is beautiful, energetic, collaborative, and exactly what we were looking for. Very, very pleased with the results.‍
