This morning, my quarterly copy of BUILDING magazine arrived in my inbox.
For those of you who may not have heard of it, BUILDING is an architecture, design and construction magazine.
In this quarter’s issue, they announced that they’ve merged their Smart Building Technology magazine with their main BUILDING magazine.
So in other words, they’re bringing together an architecture, construction and design publication and a technology specific publication into one.
And in her opening letter, the editor asked the question, “What will it take to create a healthier, higher-performing built environment?
Well, bingo - I think their merger nailed it. Combining these three disciplines is the clear answer.
And this got me wondering, could this be a sign of things to come?
In today’s day and age, we use technology on a daily basis. It has fundamentally changed the way we communicate, operate, and collaborate for the better.
You’d think it would be the backbone of any construction, building and design process, but the reality is, it’s not.
In many cases, IT and operational technology also aren’t closely considered at the outset of the design stage of a construction project. But they’re a core component of how people today are working and communicating.
How will we ever achieve smart buildings without rebalancing our priorities in how we design and build?
At Verto360, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of this much needed shift.
Our partner, DIRTT, was founded on innovation flexibility as core principles.
Their philosophy, and ours, is that your workspace should be built harnessing the power of technology, and positioned to be changed and reconfigured with minimal cost and disruption later down the road.
They were originally ahead of their time, but now, the time has come.
There are better ways to build - and we can help you stay ahead of the curve.
